Selank

Selank is the synthetic heptapeptide Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro, supplied as a defined reference for controlled peptide, cellular-assay and analytical work.

With three proline residues in a sequence only seven amino acids long, the proline content is unusually high; this is factored into RP-HPLC method development, since proline bonds can be prone to slow cis-trans isomerisation. Given the peptide's small size, mass spectrometry typically yields a singly or doubly charged signal that is compared directly with the theoretical molecular weight of 751.9 g/mol.
